I-T rates won't be cut: Sinha
The Finance Minister, Mr. Yashwant Sinha,
today reiterated that there would be no cuts in income tax rates
in the next budget.
Partial rollback on the anvil
A partial rollback of petroleum product
prices is on the anvil and a decision is likely to be taken at
tomorrow's meeting of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The
pre-session meeting is expected to approve a marginal reduction

Rajkumar in hospital for check-up
The Kannada actor, Mr. Rajkumar, was admitted
to the Mallya Hospital here today for specialised medical
investigation. Mr. Rajkumar's family physician, Dr. Ramana Rao,
