J&K Assembly passes autonomy resolution amid protest
In a historic move, the Jammu and Kashmir
Legislative Assembly today adopted by voice vote a resolution
accepting the report of the State Autonomy Committee (SAC),
recommending greater autonomy to the State. The entire Opposition
staged a walkout.

though billed as a two-day visit, had all official engagement

Pope takes up Christians issue with Vajpayee

Scientists confirmed today that a working draft
of the human genetic code had been completed, marking a
scientific milestone that will transform the understanding,
treatment and prevention of diseases. British researchers working
on the publicly-funded Human Genome Project announced the
achievement at a news conference in London.
