 India not for Eelam: PM
With the constituents of the National Democratic Alliance and the Government's supporting parties speaking in different voices on the Sri Lanka issue, it was left to the Prime Minister, Mr. Atal Behari Vajpayee, to categorically state that India was not for a separate Eelam, and that it favoured a solution to the crisis in the island country ``within the framework of Sri Lanka's unity and territorial integrity''.

 Man held in 'Love Bug' case
The Philippines authorities have detained a 27- year-old man after searching the home of the suspected creator of the ``Love Bug'' computer virus which has penetrated computers worldwide.

Colombo rejects LTTE's truce offer
Breaking a week of silence, the separatist Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam today offered a temporary truce to the Sri Lankan Government to facilitate the ``safe evacuation'' of its troops from the northern Jaffna peninsula.

Vaiko cautions against Indian involvement
The MDMK chief, Mr. Vaiko, today met the Prime Minister, Mr. A.B. Vajpayee, and the External Affairs Minister, Mr. Jaswant Singh, and cautioned against India extending any ``non-military logistics'' to Sri Lanka in its battle against the Tamil groups in the Jaffna peninsula.

Flights to Nepal may resume soon
Indian Airlines is likely to resume its flights to Nepal in two weeks. An announcement is expected during the current visit of the Nepalese Foreign Minister, Mr C.P. Bastola.

Order reserved in Laloo's case
The Patna High Court today reserved its order on the bail petition of the former Chief Minister and RJD president, Mr. Laloo Prasad Yadav, remanded to judicial custody in the disproportionate asset case, for May 10.

Navy planes arrive
Five aircraft of the Indian Navy today arrived at the Tiruchi International Airport from the Arakkonam Naval base for conducting ``certain exercises'' in the coastal region.
