Yuki beaten in final

Seventh seed Yuki Bhambri could not stop top seed Teymuraz Gabashvili from winning the title for the second week in a row, as the Russian raced to a 6-3, 6-1 victory on red clay in the final of the $50,000 + H Challenger tennis tournament in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on Saturday.

The 22-year-old Yuki had managed to eke out a similar four games last week in the quarterfinals against the 82nd ranked Russian on the hard courts in Karshi. It was the ninth career Challenger singles title for the 29-year-old Gabashvili who had performed a similar feat of winning Karshi and Samarkand back to back in 2013. The title was worth $7200 and 90 ATP points. The runner-up collected $4240 and 55 ATP points.

The result (final): Teymuraz Gabashvili (Rus) bt Yuki Bhambri 6-3, 6-1.
