World champion Dani Samuels of Australia has set a personal best to win the women’s discus competition at the Sydney Track Classic at Olympic Park.

Samuels, who became the youngest discus world champion when she took gold in Berlin in August last year at the age of 21, threw 65.84 meters on her last throw on Saturday.

That improved on the 65.44 meters she achieved to win gold at last year’s world titles.

Runner—up Sabine Rumpf of Germany threw 57.76 meters.

Samuels said she plans to compete at the Commonwealth Games in India in October.
