A last-ball, one-wicket victory by Young Stars over IOB was the highlight here on Monday, the third day of the fifth round in the TNCA first division league. Set a target of 151 after left-arm spinner M. Suresh Babu’s five for 35 played a key role in IOB being dismissed for 141, Young Stars was guided by a crucial 61 (100b, 4x4) by Wilkins Victor. Left-arm spinner R. Rajesh took five for 55 but Young Stars squeezed out a win.

Aaditya Ganesh (141, 268b, 19x4) notched up his first hundred of the season for UFCC (T. Nagar) at the expense of the Jolly Rovers attack at the IIT-Chemplast ground. Abhinav Mukund (133, 236b, 17x4, 2x6) excelled for Vijay against Grand Slam at the IC-Guru Nanak ground. Off-spinner P. Satish claimed seven for 96 for Alwarpet against T.I. Cycles at Murugappa and India Pistons offie A.C. Prathipan grabbed six Indian Bank wickets at the CPT-IP ground.

At Murugappa: Alwarpet 225 & 113 for two in 42 overs (Shijit Chandran 59 not out, K. Sriram 40 not out) drew with T.I. Cycles 280 in 114.2 overs (S. Thyagarajan 60, Mohammad Asif 56, Bilva Prasad 53, P. Satish seven for 96). Points: T.I. Cycles 5, Alwarpet 2.
