The three-day V.P. Thirumurthy Memorial Trophy inter-club knock-out squash tournament began at the Madras Cricket Club courts here on Thursday.
The host MCC (‘A’ & ‘B’), Gandhi Nagar, Cosmopolitan (‘A’ & ‘B’) and Madras Race Club are the clubs participating in the tournament, which is into its sixth edition.
The events are open singles, veterans’ (above-50) singles, and open doubles comprising two open doubles and one veterans’ doubles.
Ajit Kumbhat, vice-president & chairman, sports committee, MCC, thanked the sponsor VST Group of Companies. Hemant Mehta, captain, MCC squash team, was also present on the occasion.
