Like millions of fans in India and across the world, tennis star Sania Mirza too is hoping her favourite cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni to bring back the World Cup.

“I did watch yesterday's game. It was another demonstration of the Captain Cool. Love the way he handles the situations and wish him and the entire team the best of luck,” Sania said on the sidelines of a promotional event for Adidas here on Saturday.

“My heart and money are with India. I appeal to the fans all over the world to support our team,” she said.

“The best part with this Indian team is that it is peaking at the right time. It has quite a few game-changers which is the key in such a major event. And, like a champion team it has already shown how it can raise the bar in the big games. It should be a great World Cup,” remarked Sania.

And reflecting on some little known aspects of her life, the Telangana State Brand Ambassador revealed that she occasionally goes for running in the KBR Park in Jubilee Hills when there is no crowd. “But, you know how difficult for people like me to do running on beautifully developed stretches. Yes, of all the places I find Australia as a favourite destination for running with all those beautiful beaches and lovely scenic backdrops,” she added.

Sania also agreed that there is a massive awareness about fitness in the last decade or so. “This is a good augury. And generally, Indian athletes are good in relay and sprint events and the biggest names which come to my mind immediately are that of the legendary Milkha Singh, PT. Usha and also the great long jumper Anju Bobby George,” she said to a query.

Sania, leaving for US circ uit tonight, steered clear of the Nirbhaya BBC documentary episode. “I don't think this is right platform to debate that. Let's leave it,” she insisted.

Speaking on her partnership with Swiss great and former World No. 1 Martina Hingis, Sania feels that though on paper it looks one of the best in the business there is still lot to do to taste success. “Yes, we will work out as hard as possible to keep winning as many titles. She is a great player and I am looking forward to partnering her. In the run-up the US Open, we will keep working on different strategies and come up with the right combination of strategy and game to realise my dream of winning another Grand Slam,” Sania signed off.
