Sridhar, Abhinansu in title clash

Tamil Nadu’s Vinod Sridhar defeated Maharashtra’s Kunal Vazirani 6-4, 6-0 while Assam’s Borthakur Abhinansu scored a 6-4, 6-1 victory over Gujarat’s Suraj Konwar 6-4, 6-1 to enter the final of the men’s singles of the all-India men’s national ranking tennis tournament at IGMC stadium here on Thursday.

In the doubles, Maharashtra’s Gaware and Kunal Vazirani beat Karnataka’s Ribhav and Tamil Nadu’s Vinod Sridhar 4-6, 6-3, 10-1 in the first semifinal.

Madhya Pradesh’s Aditya Tiwari and Gujarat’s Jay Soni defeated Karnataka’s Vikram Naidu and Tamil Nadu’s Prashanth Selva Raj 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 in the second semifinal to set up the title clash with the Maharashtra duo.

The results:

Semifinal: Vinod Sridhar (TN) bt Kunal Vazirani (Mah) 6-4, 6-0; Borthakur Abhinansu (Asm) bt Suraj Konwar (Guj) 6-4, 6-1.

Doubles: Semifinals: Sahil Gaware & Kunal Vazirani (Mah) bt Ribhav (Kar) & Vinod Sridhar (TN) 4-6, 6-3, 10-1; Aditya Tiwari (MP) & Jay Soni (Guj) bt Vikram Naidu (Kar) & Prashanth Selva Raj (TN) 4-6, 6-3, 10-7.
