Sony Six bags Champions Tennis League broadcasting rights

The first-ever Champions Tennis League, featuring six city-based teams will be telecast live on Sony Six and Sony Six HD from November 17-26. The channel has won broadcasting rights for the event, comprising of ATP and WTA players.

Each team will have one male and one female player ranked amongst top 25 in the ATP and WTA rankings. Each of the six teams will also have a top ranked Indian male tennis player. Two U-21 players from India, selected by All India Tennis Association, will also be playing.

Vijay Amritraj, CMD of Second Serve Pvt. Ltd, said: “I am delighted that the Champions Tennis League will be seen on Sony Six and Sony Six HD. This would be first time that an event of this nature with top international players will be seen in six cities across India.”

“I am also proud to say that our Indian Davis cup players will be alongside the international players, along with two Indian youngsters, a boy and a girl, on the team to practice and gain experience travelling with these top players, ” he said.

Prasanna Krishnan, Sony Six EVP & Business Head said the league will witness the best of tennis action with both international and local players sharing the court.
