Serena Williams of the United States continued to top the women’s tennis rankings released Monday by the WTA.
Williams improved her points tally slightly to 11,920 to maintain a comfortable lead over Victoria Azarenka of Belarus, with Russia’s Maria Sharapova third.
Wimbledon winner Marion Bartoli of France and Germany’s Angelique Kerber improved to seventh and eighth respectively while Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic slipped two places to ninth.
