Sania Mirza, playing her first major international tournament in 2013, performed well with Bethanie-Mattek to down second-seeded duo of Liezel Huber and Maria Jose Martinez 6-2, 6-3 to enter the women's doubles semifinal of the $ 1 million Brisbane International tennis tournament on Wednesday, according to her father and coach Imran Mirza.

The victory is remarkable as they were up against a team which has two former World No. 1 players in doubles.
