The Indo-America duo of Sania Mirza and Bethanie Mattek-Sands clinched the women's doubles title in the 2 million dollar Dubai Duty Free tennis championship on Saturday, according to information received here.

The unseeded combine of Sania and Bethanie shocked second-seeded pair of Nadia Petrova and Katarina Srebotnik 6-4, 2-6, 10-7 in the final today.

Sania and Bethanie were down 3-6 int he super tie-break and then later on lost just one point.

This is Sania's 16th doubles title for the Hyderabad champion player in her career and fourth while partnering Bethanie with whom India's best ever woman tennis player shares a special bonding.

So much so that Bethanie even visited Hyderabad only recently and also the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy that is coming up in Hyderabad.

Incidentally, this duo together has a 4-0 record in finals and this also could be a reflection of their passion to perform on the big state even as they chase a dream of winning a Grand Slam later this year.
