Sanam Singh enters semifinals

Sanam Singh beat second seed Aleksandr Nedovyesov of Kazakhstan 6-4, 6-2 to enter the semifinals of the $75,000 + H Challenger tennis tournament in Shenzhen, China, on Friday. In doubles semifinals, Divij Sharan and Saketh Myneni bounced back to beat Gong Mao-Xin of China and Hsien-Yin Peng of Chinese Taipei 2-6, 7-6(2), 10-5.

Yuki on course Yuki Bhambri stayed strong as he beat eighth seed Andrea Arnaboldi of Italy 6-4, 6-1 in the quarterfinals of the $40,000 Challenger tennis tournament in Kazan, Russia, on Friday.

Vera in last four Vera Lapko of Belarus beat Snehadevi Reddy 6-4, 6-0 in the quarterfinals of the $10,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, on Friday.

Mihika, Pranjala exit Mihika Yadav and Pranjala Yadlapalli lost in the quarterfinals of the of the ITF grade-1 junior tennis tournament in Sarawak, Malaysia, on Friday.

At Shenzen ($75,000 + H Challenger): Singles (quarterfinals): Sanam Singh bt Aleksandr Nedovyesov 6-4, 6-2. Doubles (semifinals): Divij Sharan & Saketh Myneni bt Gong Mao-Xin & Hsien-Yin Peng 2-6, 7-6(2), 10-5.

At Kazan ($40,000 Challenger): Quarterfinals: Yuki Bhambri bt Andrea Arnaboldi 6-4, 6-1

At Sharm El Sheikh ($10,000 ITF women’s tournament): Quarterfinals: Singles: Vera Lapko (Blr) bt Snehadevi Reddy 6-4, 6-0. Doubles: Aimee Gibson & Katie Swan bt Alina Mikheeva (Rus) & Prarthana Thombare 2-6, 6-2, 17-15.

At Sarawak (ITF grade-1 junior): Singles (quarterfinals): Lucie Kankova (Cze) bt Mihika Yadav 6-4, 7-6(4); Olivia Tjandramulia (Aus) bt Pranjala Yadlapalli 7-5, 6-1.

Doubles (semifinals): Naiktha Bains & Olivia Tjandramulia (Aus) bt Mayuka Aikawa (Jpn) & Mihika Yadav 6-1, 6-4.
