Unseeded Ukrainian Oleksandra Korashvili upset fourth seed Rishika Sunkara of India in the first round of the $10,000 ITF Bidar Open tennis tournament here on Monday.

A typically aggressive Oleksandra overcame Rishika with power, roaring back after going down in the first set.

Wildcard entrant Spurti Shivalingaiah, meanwhile, sent Eetee Mehta packing in an engrossing three-set battle. Battling blisters on her foot during the course of the three-hour match, Spurti displayed fine spirit to emerge the winner against her fancied opponent.

The results: Ankita Raina bt Sai Samhita 6-1, 6-1; Ho Ching Wu (Hkg) bt Arantxa Andrade 6-3, 6-2; Vaniya Dangwal bt Riya Bhatia 6-2, 6-2; Anushka Bhargava bt Sanae Ohta (Jpn) 6-2, 6-7 (3-7), 6-2; Prarthana Thombare bt Pei Chi Lee (Tpe) 4-6, 6-4, 6-4; Nan-Nan Zhang (Chn) bt Shibika Burman 6-0, 6-1; Oleksandra Korashvili (Ukr) bt Rishika Sunkara 2-6, 6-0, 6-3; Spurthi Shivalingaiah bt Eetee Mehta 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
