Top-seeded Ramkumar Ramanathan and N. Vijay Sundar Prashanth, the fourth seed, entered the final of the Vasan Eye Care-ITF men’s Futures tennis championship at the Union Club here on Friday.

In the first semifinal, Ramkumar scored a 6-3, 6-3 win over fifth-seeded Ivan Gakhov of Russia. In the other, Vijay Sundar got the better of second-seeded N. Sriram Balaji 3-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Ramkumar broke Gakhov in the seventh and ninth games to take the opening set 6-3. In the second set, after an exchange of breaks, Ramkumar broke Gakhov’s serve again in the eighth game to go up 5-3. Gakhov had two break points in the next game but failed to capitalise on them as Ramkumar finished the match off with an ace.
