Prerna outplays Kyra Shroff

Qualifier Prerna Bhambri beat Kyra Shroff 6-3, 6-1 in the first round of the Bhavna Swarup memorial $25,000 ITF women’s tennis tournament on the grass courts at the Services Club here on Wednesday.

In the pre-quarterfinals, Prerna will meet sixth seed, Dalila Jakupovic of Slovenia.

Rishika Sunkara was the other Indian player to make the second round as she beat Nicole Clerico of Italy. She meets eighth seed Nicha Lertpitaksinchai of Thailand.
