Portaluri and Renard triumph

Giorgio Portaluri from Italy and Lucas Renard from Sweden had an easy 6-4, 6-2 win over top seeds N. Sriram Balaji and V.R. Ranjeet in the doubles final of the TVS-ITF Futures tennis tournament here on Friday.

In the singles semifinals, Kaza Vinayak Sharma’s run came to an end when he was knocked out by Renard 7-6(4), 6-3. In the other semifinal, top seed Enrique Lopez-Perez was stretched by Mathias Bourgue before winning 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.

The results:Doubles (final): Giorgio Portaluri (Ita) & Lucas Renard (Swe) bt Sriram Balaji & V.R. Ranjeet 6-4, 6-2.

Singles (semifinals): Lucas Renard bt Kaza Vinayak Sharma 7-6(4), 6-3; Enrique Lopez-Perez (Esp) bt Mathias Bourgue (Fra) 6-4, 4-6, 6-2.
