The National grass court tennis championship is scheduled to be held at the Chandigarh Club here from November 27.

The championship, being held close on the heels of the Fenesta National hard court champinonship in Delhi, will offer a total prize purse of Rs. 5,00,000.

The qualifying event will be held on November 25 and 26.

Interestingly, the main draw is set to feature four wild cards, both in the men’s and women’s events, much in contrast to the practice of not offering any wild cards for national level competition.

The qualifying draw for the championship being organised by the Haryana Tennis Association which had conducted the Davis Cup against Korea at the same venue, will be made of 48 players in the men’s event and 32 players in the women’s events. It will also feature four wild cards each.
