Rafael Nadal improved his record at the French Open to 47-1, advancing to the third round on Thursday by beating Denis Istomin of Uzbekistan 6-2, 6-2, 6-0.

Nadal has won the French Open title six times, and one more will break the record he shares with Bjorn Borg.

The second-seeded Spaniard’s only loss at the clay-court Grand Slam came in 2009, when he lost to Robin Soderling in the fourth round.

Overall, Nadal has won 10 Grand Slam titles, including at least one at each of the four majors.
