Andy Murray won another tough contest when he beat qualifying rounds lucky loser Stephane Robert of France, 6-1, 6-2, 6-7 (6-8), 6-2, for a place in the Australian Open quarterfinals.

Murray wasted four match points when he failed to serve out a straight-set win at 5-4 in the third set as Robert, with nothing to lose, played out of his depth at times.

The Scot smashed his racquet in frustration but regained his composure in the fourth set to go through on his sixth match point.

“He’s great fun to watch — but not to play. It was very tricky for me,” Murray said.
