Kazakhstan takes the lead in Davis Cup

Visitors Kazakhstan took a 2-1 lead over Switzerland in the Davis Cup quarterfinals as Andrey Golubev and Aleksandr Nedovyesov beat Roger Federer and Stanislas Wawrinka 6-4, 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-6(6) in the doubles rubber on Saturday.

In Tokyo, Czech Republic wasted little time wrapping up its quarterfinal against Japan after Radek Stepanek and Lukas Rosol paired up for a 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 victory over Tatsuma Ito and Yasutaka Uchiyama.

In Nancy: France 1 trails Germany 2 [Michael Llodra & Julien Benneteau bt Tobial Kamke & Andre Begemann 6-1, 7-6(5), 4-6, 7-5; Jo-Wilfried Tsonga lost to Peter Gojowczyk 5-7, 7-6(3), 3-6, 7-6(8), 8-6].
