Shahar Peer defeated fifth-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska 6-3, 6-7 (4-7), 6-2 on Wednesday to reach the quarterfinals of the Porsche tennis Grand Prix.

Israeli Peer blew a 3-1 lead and wasted a match point serving at 6-5 in the second set but was finally unstoppable in the third to win in 2 hours 4 minutes with a forehand winner.

“It was tough to come back. I had a match point. But I am happy that I came back,” said Peer after getting her third victory in the fourth meeting with Radwanska.

Meanwhile, the 2008 champion Jelena Jankovic took just 75 minutes to beat Argentina’s Gisela Dulko 6-2, 6-2 in the first round. The Serb Jankovic, a winner in Indian Wells last month, dropped service only once and broke Dulko five times en route to victory.

“It was good for the first match. Dulko is tough to play on clay.

I played a good first set but had a few ups and downs in the second,” said the fourth-seeded Jankovic.

Seventh-seeded Australian Samantha Stosur kept up her unbeaten clay court record this year with a 6-2, 6-1 demolition of France’s Marion Bartoli and Belgian eight seed Yanina Wickmayer ousted Italy’s Francesca Schiavone 6-3, 6-3.
