Jelena Jankovic, the fourth seed, has defeated Laura Robson of Britain in the first round of Wimbledon.
Jankovic won 6-3, 7-6 (5) on Centre Court in her seventh consecutive appearance at the All England Club. She reached the semifinals at the French Open.
The 234th-ranked Robson, 16, entered the draw with a wild card.
