Two-time finalist Kim Clijsters has withdrawn from the French Open with a foot injury, officials confirmed on Friday.

The pullout was not unexpected after the Belgian was injured last month in a Fed Cup match.

The men’s side will be missing Russian Nikolay Davydenko, with the world number six still letting a broken wrist heal.

Former number one Clijsters lost Paris finals in 2001 and 2003 while Davydenko has twice played semifinals, the last in 2007.
