Hironmoy appointed CEO of AITA

The All India Tennis Association (AITA) has appointed Hironmoy Chatterjee, the secretary of the Bengal Tennis Association, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).

In a release issued here, the secretary-general of AITA, Bharat Oza, stated that Chatterjee would also be the official spokesperson of the AITA, along with him. The decision was taken by the Executive Board of the AITA, with Anil Khanna as the president, in consultation with the Life President, Yashwant Sinha.

The CEO will have a team of three Senior Executive Directors, a Chief Finance Officer, a Development Director and 10 other full-time staff, plus coaches deployed in different parts of the country on a temporary basis.

Anil Khanna said that the honorary office-bearers would be guiding the policy decisions and leave the execution and management to the full-time executives.

The decision was based on the management model of the tennis associations in the U.S., UK, Australia apart from the ITF.
