Justine Henin defeated birthday Shahar Peer 6-3, 6-2 on Saturday for a place in the Porsche Grand Prix final where she makes another attempt to win her first title since coming out of tennis retirement.
The 24{+t}{+h}-ranked Belgian Henin showed no signs of fatigue from a Friday night quarterfinal marathon against Jelena Jankovic en route to victory in 1 hour 14 minutes.
Henin had 28 winners to 14 from Peer, the 20{+t}{+h}-ranked from Israel who turned 23 on the day.
“I am so happy to be in the final again. When I play aggressive, my game is much better,” said Henin.
Henin, 27, won 41 career titles, the last coming in Antwerp in February 2008 before she retired three months later. She lifted the Stuttgart crown in 2007 and was a finalist in 2001 and 2003.
Sunday’s final against seventh seed Samantha Stosur of Australia or 138{+t}{+h}-ranked Russian qualifier Anna Lapushchenkova will be her 60th overall and third since she returned to action this year. She lost in Brisbane and at the Australian Open.
