Fish eases past Beck

Top seed and World No.1 Novak Djokovic made smooth progress into the second round of the Dubai Tennis Championships, beating Cedrik-Marcel Stebe 6-4, 6-2 on Monday.

Mardy Fish also eased into the second round beating Andreas Beck 6-1, 6-1.

Novak Djokovic's brother, Marko, the World No.869, lost his first-round match 6-3, 6-2 to Andrey Golubev.

Melzer, Ferrer triumph

On Sunday, unseeded Jurgen Melzer defeated Milos Raonic 7-5, 7-6(4) in the final of the Memphis Open, to capture his fourth career ATP title.

Also winning over the weekend was David Ferrer, who beat Nicolas Almagro 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the Buenos Aires Open final.

The results: At Memphis (Memphis Open): Men: Final : Jurgen Melzer bt Milos Raonic 7-5, 7-6(4).

At Buenos Aires (Buenos Aires Open): Final : David Ferrer bt Nicolas Almagro 4-6, 6-3, 6-2.

At Dubai (Dubai Tennis Championships): First round : Lukas Rosol bt Adrian Mannarino 6-2, 6-2; Novak Djokovic bt Cedrik-Marcel Stebe 6-4, 6-2. Andrey Golubev bt Marko Djokovic 6-3, 6-2; Mardy Fish bt Andreas Beck 6-1, 6-1.

At Malaysia (Malaysian Open): First round : Jelena Dokic bt Kristina Mladenovic 6-3, 6-1.
