Roger Federer maintained a slender lead in the latest ATP tennis rankings issued on Monday as the final Masters of the year got underway without him in Paris.

The Swiss Federer tops an unchanged top 10 with 12,315 points from Novak Djokovic of Serbia (11,970) and Briton Andy Murray (7,690).

Federer was beaten by Juan Martin del Potro on Sunday in his home town final in Basel at the Swiss Open.

He said afterwards that some little ailments made him cancel the Bercy Masters in order to be in top shape for next week’s season-ending ATP World Tour Finals in London, where he is the title holder and the prestigious year—ending ranking will be decided between himself and Djokovic.
