Fed Cup team announced

Kyra Shroff, Rutuja Bhosale and Rishika Sunkara will support Sania Mirza in the Indian Fed Cup women’s tennis team that will compete in the Asia-Oceania Group 1 event to be staged in Astana, Kazakhstan, from February 6 to 9.

The selection committee, with Anil Dhupar as chairman, and S.P. Misra, Balram Singh, Sai Jayalakshmi, Rohit Rajpal and Zeeshan Ali as other members, had a tele-conference to decide the team.

In a release, the All India Tennis Association (AITA) stated that the performance of the players and their international rankings were taken into consideration in making the unanimous selection.

Ankita Raina and Prerna Bhambri have been kept as reserves.
