Novak Djokovic retained first place in the men’s tennis rankings issued on Monday by the ATP into the Monte Carlo Masters, where he is not certain to play for injury reasons.
Djokovic rolled his ankle in Davis Cup play for Serbia a week ago and faces a race against time to be fit for the opening match on Wednesday in Monaco.
But he has a healthy lead atop the ATP list with 12,500 points from Andy Murray (8,750) and Roger Federer (8,670).
