Tomas Berdych swept Novak Djokovic in straight sets at Wimbledon to reach his first Grand Slam final.

Tomas Berdych has reached his first Grand Slam final after upsetting third-seeded Novak Djokovic 6-3, 7-6 (9), 6-3 in the semifinals of Wimbledon.

The 12th-seeded Czech, who defeated six-time champion Roger Federer in the quarterfinals, seized total control of the match after winning a dramatic tiebreaker in the second set.

After leading 6-2, Berdych wasted five set points, including one where Djokovic successfully challenged a baseline call, before the Serb surrendered with his fifth double fault and second of the tiebreaker.

Djokovic’s serve again let him down in the eighth game of the third set, double-faulting twice in a row to hand Berdych the break.
