Australians woke up on Wednesday to the stunning news that young, unknown Nick Kyrgios had pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Wimbledon history, beating world number one Rafael Nadal.

Ranked 144th in the world, the 19-year-old Kyrgios is now the toast of Australia. “What a win and what an amazing attitude,” Prime Minister Tony Abbott tweeted.

Excited fans called radio stations to demand statues be erected, mountains and towns be renamed and a new national dish be named after the young giant slayer from Canberra.
