Somdev Devvarman finally snapped his losing streak in the singles with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Australian Matthew Ebden in the first round of the ATP Portugal Open here on Tuesday. The Indian beat the World No.64, in one hour and 13 minutes.
The win is Devvarman’s first after suffering five straight first-round defeats in the last three months. The last time he won a singles match on the tour was when he defeated Juan Martin del Potro in ATP 500 Dubai event in February.
