Asia-Oceania Junior Davis Cup: India stays on course to top the table

Alex Solanki battled for three hours to beat Nawakarn Khunjan 5-7, 6-2, 7-6(3) as fifth-seeded India stayed on course to top the table in Group D of the Asia-Oceania Junior Davis Cup under-16 tennis in Kuching, Malaysia, on Tuesday.

Solanki’s marathon effort helped India seal victory over Thailand, after Paramveer Singh Bajwa had dismissed Sirawit Daosaengsawang for the loss of three games. The doubles match featuring Bajwa and B.R. Nikshep against Thuwanon Pattananawapong and Daosaengsawang was abandoned at 2-2 in the first set.

The results (league) : India bt Thailand 2-0 (Paramveer Singh Bajwa bt Sirawit Daosaengsawang 6-1, 6-2; Alex Solanki bt Nawakarn Khunjan 5-7, 6-2, 7-6(3).
