The fine run of qualifier Sanam Singh came to an end as he was beaten 6-2, 6-3 by top-seeded Yen-Hsun Lu of Chinese Taipei in the quarterfinals of the $50,000 Challenger tennis tournament in Shanghai on Friday.

In the doubles quarterfinals, the second-seeded Yuki Bhambri and Divij Sharan beat Gong Mao-Xin and Zhang Ze of China 6-7(4), 6-4, 10-6.

In the semifinals, the Indian pair will meet another Chinese wild card pair of Gao Xin and Li Zhe, which beat Artem Sitak of New Zealand and Tsung-Hua Yang of Chiense Taipei 6-3, 3-6, 10-7.
