Thanks to the Olympics, veteran Kim Clijsters is discovering new things about tennis ahead of retirement this year. The Belgian is playing in the games for the first time, and she says dressing the same as her teammates and carrying a backpack reminds her of going on a school trip.

The former No. 1 said on Friday that she enjoys the “new experience” after 15 years on the WTA tour.

Clijsters missed the Olympics in Sydney in 2000 and Athens in 2004, and was in a two-year retirement during the 2008 games in Beijing.
