Rafael Nadal was on Wednesday chosen as Spanish flag-bearer for the opening ceremony of the London Olympics.
Sports federations of the nation decided to give Nadal the nod ahead of originally favoured sailors Iker Martinez and Xabi Fernandez. The London Olympics are from July 27 until August 12.
