Unseeded Abhijeet Tiwari of Chhattisgarh made short work of veteran Vinod Sridhar of Tamil Nadu in the opening round of the Indian Jute-AITA National grass-court tennis championship here on Monday.

With the qualifying rounds spilling over to an extra day, only three main draw matches were held on Monday.

In other matches, fifth-seeded Saurav Sukul of Bengal played true to his form to down unseeded Saurabh Patil of Maharashtra, while Adit Jain of Delhi got the better of Amlesh Kumar of Bihar conceding just one game in each set.
