AITA asks players to shed differences

June 28, 2012 02:31 am | Updated 02:31 am IST - NEW DELHI:

The All-India Tennis Association (AITA) has appealed to the leading players of the country to shed their differences, stop going public, and join hands to win medals in the Olympic Games.

In a release issued here on Wednesday, Bharat Oza, Secretary-General, AITA, responded to the anguish expressed by Sania Mirza about being traded like a commercial product for striking equilibrium in the team, by stating that the Selection Committee made the best choice in the given circumstances.

“AITA respects all its players and is fully aware of the accomplishments of Sania Mirza as an excellent tennis player. AITA believes that Leander and Sania together are capable of producing fantastic results in the Olympics,’’ Oza said. — Special Correspondent
