Two-time French Open runner-up Robin Sodeling lost to 18-year-old Bernard Tomic 6-1, 6-4, 7-5 on Saturday in the third round at Wimbledon.

The fifth-seeded Swede reached the quarterfinals at the All England Club last year for his best performance in southwest London, but he could do little to stop Tomic from reaching the fourth round.

Tomic, a 158th-ranked Australian, served 13 aces and was never broken by the Swede.

Soderling, who lost the first set in 17 minutes, appeared to be ailing. He called for a trainer early in the second set and, after one point later in the set, sat down on a line judge’s chair for a few seconds and wiped his face with a towel.

“I was very calm, but inside I was bursting,” Tomic said. “I tried not to show it to him. He was getting a bit frustrated, and I knew at times I had to stay calm.”
