BCCI vice-president Chitrak Mitra, who belongs to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB), said Sachin Tendulkar’s 199th Test would be a grand affair. The match, against the West Indies, is scheduled at the famous Eden Gardens between November 6 and 10.

In the city to attend the BCCI working committee meeting on Saturday, Mitra said, “Tendulkar enjoyed playing at the Eden Gardens and we will give him a fabulous send-off. All the tickets have been sold out and we will have a giant screen in the park outside the stadium for people who could not find a place inside to watch.”

He added, “We have invited Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to attend the match on the last day and she has graciously agreed. Tendulkar’s cricketing friends from India and abroad, including Rahul Dravid and V.V.S. Laxman, and famous movie stars such as Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan will also be coming to the Eden Gardens to watch the legend play.”
