M. Ramu (six for 36) bowled Tangedco to victory, but a similar effort from A. Imran Khan Pathan (six for 37) went in vain for Young Men’s Association in the TNCA fourth-division ‘B’ league recently.

St. Joseph’s in limelight

Competition continued to be intense on the second day of the 10th annual SSN Trophy all-India collegiate sports festival here on Wednesday. Apart from the home team players, competitors from SRMC, RED, and St. Joseph’s attracted attention in tennis and chess.

In the women’s section, Lady Doak College, Madurai, beat SSN in a close basketball match at 59-54. In chess, Velammal drew with Mohammed Sathak College 2-2.

Ram-Narasimhan duo takes the honours

Ram Kumar & A.K. Narasimhan, with a score of 67.31 IMPs and playing east-west, won the TNSC weekly bridge tournament held here. Srihari Vergese & Sunil Vergese came first with a score of 59.54 imps playing from the north-south direction.
