R. Ramesh (193 n.o., 163b, 22x4, 4x6) powered Air India to a 100-run victory over Eccentrics in a TNCA V division ‘D’ zone match here recently.

In another match, S. Surya Sree (103 n.o.) and D. Soma Subramaniyam (seven for 61) set up Chennai P&T Audit Recreation Club’s 79-run victory over Gandhi Nagar Starlets.

Big win for FSCA

FSCA beat CCCA-A by 130 runs in the Ananda Ramanathan under-13 cricket tournament conducted by the Chennai Cricket Academy recently.

TN schools team

The Tamil Nadu Schools Cricket Association will organise the Schools National championship from Oct. 24 to 28 at Loyola College grounds. The Tamil Nadu team for the same has been announced.

Nellai Nadar HSS will take on Vyasa Vidyalaya HSS in the final of the MASC trophy inter-school cricket tournament after R. Ahilan (three for six and 35 not out) led Nellai Nadar to a four-wicket victory over Sri Sankara Vidyalaya HSS here.

Sri Sankara Vidyalaya HSS 113 for seven in 20 overs (S. Swaminathan 62, R. Naveen 30, R. Ahilan three for six) lost to Nellai Nadar HSS 116 for six in 20 overs (R. Veera 54, R. Ahilan 35 not out, S. Akshay three for 18).

City XI posts win

City XI won the under-14 cricket match against Combined Districts on the basis of first innings lead at the TNCA academy grounds, Theni, on Tuesday.

The scores: Combined Districts 188 in 104.3 overs (P. Prashanth Prabhu 63, P. Ajith Kumar three for 46) drew with City XI 210 in 118 overs (Adithya Raghuraman 65, Nekatan Radhakrishnan 35, S. Anirudh 25, R. Sasidharan three for 23).

Matches postponed

Thursday’s matches in the TNCA City Schools cricket tournament for B. Somasundaram Trophy (u-14) have been postponed due to inclement weather and poor ground conditions.

The fresh date will be announced later.
