What the professionals say

The following professionals voiced their opinion on the Invitation day card:

JAGGI DHARIWAL: I like Antonios. In the Sprinters’ Cup, Oasis Star is a hot favourite and nothing will beat her. On paper, the Stayers’ Cup lies between Yana and Noble Prince, while my ward Angelique shapes as the third choice. In the Super Mile, I fancy Dancing Dynamite, who was unlucky in Mysore, and Juventus.

S. PADMANABHAN: Icebreaker has a good chance of overturning the result of the McDowell Indian Derby which came at the end of a long campaign. Now she has had an ideal classic preparation and I hope to win. Oasis Star is a hard nut to crack in the Sprinters’ Cup while the Stayers’ Cup is between Noble Prince and Yana. Rhapsidion Snow should win the Super Mile from Dancing Dynamite.

VINAYAK: Icebreaker (Invitation) has the advantage of a race over the track. Meanwhile, Aurora Aurealis (Sprinters) and Cavaradosi (Stayers) should run well. Until each race is over anything can happen.

MAGANSINGH JODHA: Antonios should win. In the Super Mile, I like Dancing Dynamite, while Oasis Star looks hard to beat in the Sprinters’ Cup.

MALLESH NARREDU: The form of the McDowell Indian Derby has worked out well — Antonios must have been a good horse to break the track record. Oasis Star in the Sprinters’ Cup — it’s a one-horse race. The Super Mile is open, while in the Stayers’ Cup, I hope for the best for my mount, Cavaradosi.

A. IMRAN KHAN: Nothing can touch Antonios. My choice for the Sprinters’ Cup is Oasis Star, who should win in a common canter, while in the Stayers’ Cup my mount Maximise is the best of the local hopes.
