Vivek Jain elected RWITC Chairman

Vivek Jain returned as the Chairman of the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) after he was voted with the highest number of votes (897) alongwith his panel of five candidates who were also elected to the managing committee of the Club, at the 98th Annual General Meeting held here on Dec. 17.

Among the ten candidates contesting Vivek Jain’s panel of five (Champaklal Zaveri, G.Vahanavaty, Geoffrey Nagpal & S.C.Jain) just made it by a thin margin.

Following is the ballot: Vivek Jain (897 votes), Champaklal Zaveri (829), Ghulamhusein Vahanavaty (777), Jaydev Mody (775), K.N.Dhunjibhoy (733), Ram Shroff (708), Geoffrey Nagpal (706), Shyam Ruia (688), S.C.Jain (637) and Shivlal Daga (633).
