McDowell Signature Indian Derby turns 30

The 30th successive running of the McDowell Signature Indian Derby is the longest sponsorship of any sporting event in the country. The race is all set to be run at the Mahalaxmi race course on Sunday (February 2).

With the stake-money increasing every year, the 2014 edition offers a whopping Rs. 3.2 crore with the winner scooping up just under Rs. 2 crore, unparalleled in the history of thE sport.

RWITC chairman Vivek Jain said: “we are delighted that McDowell Signature enters its 30th straight year of sponsorship of the Indian Derby. We expect it to be yet another record-breaking day and remain grateful for their continued association.”

Adding glamour and style to the weekend will be the Signature fashion shows, with Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar walking the ramp.
