Indian discus thrower Krishna Poonia came up with her season’s best effort of 63.67 meters to notch up a silver medal at the Altius Track Crew Throwdown Meet here.

This was a marked improvement on her 2011 best of 62.25 meters which she achieved in October.

The gold in the ongoing event went to Beijing Olympics champion Stephanie Trafton, who threw 67.74 meters setting a new U.S. record.

“I am happy with this performance. It was my first competition of the season and close to my personal best of 63.69 meter.”

The bronze medal went to Gia lewis (62.88 meter).
