Levon Aronian joined Viswanathan Anand and Sergey Karjakin at the top of the table at the World Candidates chess tournament in Moscow on Sunday. Going into Monday’s rest day, they are all on two points after the third round with 11 rounds left.
Aronian beat Veselin Topalov, handing the latter his second loss in three days.
Anand, playing white, drew with Fabiano Caruana, the highest-rated player in the tournament, while Karjakin, playing black, drew with Anish Giri. Giri is one of the three players on 1.5 points; Caruana and Peter Svidler are the others.
