Chennai’s Vishnu Prasad and Kolhapur’s Chittesh S. Mandody enjoyed a race win each in the JK Racing India Series FBO2 class, the premium event of the 17th JK Tyre Racing Championship at the Kari Motor Speedway in Chettipalayam here on Sunday.

Vishnu, who called the shots in the first race on Saturday, completed a sweet double by winning a wet second race hands down. The presence of India internationals Armaan Ebrahim and Aditya Patel, who were here as guest drivers, did not bother him much.

Starting from pole, the 20-year-old gained a quick lead. There was lots of action behind him with both Armaan and Aditya fighting their way to the top from the back of the grid. The duo impressed the crowd with their amazing driving skills.

After winning over the rest of the bunch they were in a strong position to even challenge a flying Vishnu, but the rain came down and stalled the proceedings.

With the race shortened to 11 laps, Vishnu clinched the prime position on the podium followed by Nayan Chatterjee (Mumbai) and Ananth Shanmugam (Bangalore).

Later, Chittesh drove a similar race to take the chequered flag ahead of Akhil Rabindra (Bangalore) and Krishnaraj Mahadik (Mumbai).

Kerala’s T.S. Diljith T. Shaji, who swept the table in the opening round here, finally managed a first place finish in the Formula LGB4 category.

Bonnie Thomas registered his second victory of the season winning the second race of the JK Tyre Volkswagen Polo R Cup.
